Hiring multiple positions for Temp-to-Hire Plastic Fabrication Technicians. Fabrication Technicians will fabricate and fuse geomembrane liner panels and make custom fabricate sumps and berms out of HDPE pipe and HDPE plate and other geomembrane lining materials. Work Schedule is Monday-Friday, 3PM-11PM.

Working Environment

All technician candidates must be able to lift pieces of equipment and materials weighing up to 45 pounds, climb stairs and ladders and walk-up slopes and walk over uneven surfaces.

Technicians must be self-starters and must keep the pace of the other workers during their shift.

Technicians must be willing to work 3^rd Shift 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

The Technician candidate must learn and demonstrate the duties and responsibilities listed below to the satisfaction of the fabrication supervisor. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and general housekeeping duties
• Lining up geomembrane panels to create the correct overlap.
• Cleaning the liner and liner seams with brooms and rags when necessary.
• Fuse overlapped sheets of liner with a hot air blowing device.
• Buff the seaming area with a 4 1/2”angle grinder and 80 grit paper sanding disc.
• Learn basic extrusion and fusion welding techniques and perform a passing pre-weld test
• Demonstrate quality control methods such as visual inspection and seam nondestructive testing.
• Layout and build secondary containment berms.
• Fuse HDPE T-Lock embedment strips.
• Develop HDPE plate extrusion welding skills.
• Follow all safety rules, regulations and instructions.
• Wear the PPE appropriate for the task at hand.
• Participate in the company’s behavioral based safety program.

Job Requirements and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience an industrial setting (fabrication shop/yard/warehouse, industrial or petro-chemical shop/warehouse (required)
• At least 1 year of fabrication experience (preferred)
• Certificate of completion of a Mechanical Trades and/or Vocational Trade School in a curriculum consistent with the tasks identified in this job description. (preferred)
• Forklift Experience (preferred)

Technicians must successfully pass background screening, produce valid employment eligibility documentation in accordance with the Form I-9, and successfully pass all pre-employment, post-employment, and random drug screens.
